Getting started

How Rewa works

Everything you need to buy and sell pre-loved Indian wear with confidence — from your first listing to a safe handover.

  1. 01

    Create your profile

Add a photo, your city, state and ZIP, and a short bio. Complete profiles get far more replies.

  2. 02

List in a couple of minutes

Snap a few photos, pick a category, add size and condition, and set your price in dollars.

  3. 03

    Chat and agree

Buyers message you in the app. Agree on a price and a safe local meeting spot.

  4. 04

    Mark sold and get reviewed

Mark the item sold in chat so the buyer can leave a review — reviews unlock trust badges.

What sells best

  • Bridal and party lehengas in great condition — the highest demand category.
  • Silk and designer sarees, especially Banarasi, Kanjivaram and organza.
  • Kids' festive wear, worn once and outgrown.
  • Sherwanis and Nehru jackets in the weeks before wedding season.
  • Sets sell faster than single pieces — include the blouse, dupatta and petticoat.

Pricing tips

  • A good starting point is 40–60% of what you originally paid for lightly worn pieces.
  • Search Rewa for similar items and price just under the closest match.
  • Round numbers ($120) read cleaner than odd ones ($117).
  • Leave a little room to negotiate — most buyers will offer.
  • Bundle matching accessories instead of discounting the main piece.

Photo tips

  • Shoot in daylight near a window; skip flash and heavy filters.
  • Use a plain background so the embroidery and colour read true.
  • Include a full-length shot, a close-up of the fabric and one of the work or zari.
  • Photograph any flaw honestly — stains, missing beads, altered hems.
  • Add a photo of the item worn or on a hanger so buyers can judge the drape.

Writing a listing that converts

  • Put the piece and the fabric in the title: “Red Banarasi silk saree with zari border”.
  • Say the size, how many times it was worn, and whether it's been altered or dry cleaned.
  • Keep the description under 800 characters — clear beats long.
  • Mention pickup area so nearby buyers can find you in radius search.

Safety guidelines

  • Meet in a busy public place during daylight — many police stations have exchange zones.
  • Bring someone with you, and share your meeting details with a friend.
  • Keep all conversation inside Rewa so there's a record.
  • Prefer cash or a trusted in-person payment app at handover. Never send gift cards or wire money.
  • Never share your bank login, one-time codes, or personal documents.
  • Inspect the item before paying. If something feels off, walk away and report it to support.

Trust badges

  • “Verified seller” appears after 3 completed sales on Rewa.
  • “Trusted buyer” appears after 3 completed purchases.
  • Badges come from real completed transactions — mark items sold so yours count.
